SCOPE

DMR ID K2PI Radio DMR

The Indonesian Digital Mobile Radio network applies to and is used only by users of the Indonesian DMR Network (DMRiD). It is hoped to become the identification code standard for DMR systems throughout Indonesia, using a dedicated local Indonesian network only (not connected to global networks such as Brandmeister DMR, D-star, Fusion, All-star and others), and hopefully will be adopted by the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) as a standard and be formalized through a Ministerial Decree (KEPMEN) after being reviewed and refined by the Government.

A well-organized Identification Standard will make it easier for government agencies and community groups involved in disaster or security response to set up identification for Talkgroups (Channels), Personnel, or DMR Gateways (RPU) according to their function and region, following the Ministry of Home Affairs (DEPDAGRI) Regional Code Standard, to guarantee the integrity of Talkgroups (Channels), Personnel, and DMR Gateways (RPU) in every area within Indonesia's territory.

OBJECTIVES

With a digital communication system using the Indonesian DMR network (DMRiD), the wider public can play its role in supporting the government in mass communication for the prevention and handling of security or disaster emergencies, and in post-emergency handling.

K2PI and DMRiD servers can classify users on each Talkgroup or Channel as needed, for example allowing only authorized officers to TX (talk) and RX (listen) while everyone else can only RX (listen).

Neighborhood watch (Siskamling) becomes easier because every watch member, or the whole community in a neighborhood, can stand by monitoring the Siskamling channel every night using an Android device while it charges. If anything happens, anyone on standby on the Siskamling channel will know and can act promptly according to their role. Moreover, if a watch member encounters a security emergency, for example witnessing an unsafe situation, they can make an emergency call that is guaranteed to be heard by every member on standby on the Siskamling channel, so it can be responded to quickly and handled appropriately.

Disaster response in remote areas becomes easier by using a Portable DMR Gateway complete with one Portable Starlink unit (carried by personnel in a backpack or installed in a vehicle) with crossmode (digital to analog/analog to digital) linked to existing analog radio frequency channels (UHF/VHF).

With a DMR Gateway Station with crossmode (digital to analog/analog to digital) at an Amateur or KRAP member's location, wherever they are they can monitor their local analog RF channel through the Indonesian DMR network (DMRiD Network), and in an emergency can even use an Android device (without carrying an HT) to send or receive news to their local analog RF channel network.

Important Note Non-amateur callsigners are prohibited from using DIGITAL MOBILE RADIO HT devices. Please use a phone, PC or POC when you QSO (10.25) on non-amateur talkgroups on the Indonesian DMR Network (DMRID Network).
