DISASTER ALERT COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
Disaster Alert Team Personnel
The Regional Disaster Management Agency acts as the main team leading and organizing disaster prevention and response activities together with related agencies such as the Police, Military, Medical Rescue, Volunteers and others (the Joint Team).
K2PI and Radio Organizations, as the Communication Volunteer Team, are obliged to help the Joint Team with the technical communication system used during disaster prevention and response activities, so that every member of the Disaster Prevention and Response team can communicate on a dedicated talkgroup (channel) for disaster prevention and response operations. The Communication Volunteer Team also provides a dedicated channel for the general public to collect important information from the public related to disaster prevention and response in their area.
POST-DISASTER COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
Post-Disaster Team Personnel
The Regional Search and Rescue Agency (BASARDA) acts as the main team leading and organizing post-disaster search and rescue activities together with related agencies such as the Police, Military, Medical Rescue, Volunteers and others (the Joint Team).
K2PI and Radio Organizations, as the Communication Volunteer Team, are obliged to help the Joint Team with the technical communication system used during post-disaster search and rescue activities, so that every member of the post-disaster search and rescue team can communicate on a dedicated talkgroup (channel) for post-disaster search and rescue operations. The Communication Volunteer Team also provides a dedicated channel for the general public to collect important information from the public related to post-disaster search and rescue in their area.
COMMUNICATION FACILITIES AND UTILITIES
It is hoped that every Regency/City across Indonesia can provide several sets of facilities for Disaster Emergency Communication, depending on the disaster potential in its area. The package includes a vehicle equipped with a generator, a Portable Crossmode DMR Gateway complete with a Portable Tower for the antenna, a Portable Starlink, and several analog handy-talkies (at least 20 units) always on standby in the dedicated vehicle of the Communication Volunteer Team.
This communication facility is very useful in a disaster emergency: even when the area is blacked out (no power and no Internet), the Joint Team for disaster prevention and response and the post-disaster search and rescue team can still communicate to coordinate with relevant parties outside their area, even up to the Central Government.
